It felt oh so good to be back in one of my favorit

It felt oh so good to be back in one of my favorite cities...even if it was only for a few hours.

DC is such a magical, exciting, place to be! It's where things happen. It's a hub of change makers; international development firms, NGOs, nonprofits, activists, politicians. This city inspires me. It makes me want to do more.

I definitely wouldn't be mad if I ended up here one day. #capturingdc

I look around me and I see so many incredible wome

I look around me and I see so many incredible women. Movers, shakers, creators, change makers. Fierce, loving, truth speaking, dance floor dancing, fearless, women from all walks of life. It brings me so much joy.

Both of the day jobs I've had here in VA have been at entirely female owned and operated organizations. I've felt so lucky to be a part of them and to learn from such strong, ambitious, women.

This #internationalwomensday I'm so grateful to have so many amazing women in my life, for all the progress we've made, and to be a part of a generation of women who are fighters, storytellers, and truth seekers.

It's been a while since I've posted anything on here. I started this account so I could post a million travel photos without annoying my friends and family. Since travel has largely shut down, I haven't felt like I had much to share on here.

But, the more I've thought about it, the more I've realized that my life right now feels like I'm traveling. You know that feeling when you're in a new place and it feels like anything is possible? Life just seems to sparkle and pop just a little bit more.

That's how I feel living in Virginia Beach. My life sparkles here more than I ever imagined possible. I'm having so much FUN and definitely living out my 20s as much as a pandemic will allow for.

I eat at fun places and drink fun drinks. I hike and climb and go to the beach. Living here is like home and adventure all rolled into one. So, until I can get on a plane to somewhere foreign, I'll be sharing snippets of my VA adventures. #capturingva

Today's #travelthrowback is a photo I took in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. I was only in Portugal for a short time, 5 days at an international leadership conference. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

One of the amazing things about this conference was that a lot of our sessions were around the city. So, I actually got to do quite a bit of exploring. I loved the architecture and Viana do Castelo is right on the water. It was such a beautiful city that, if I hadn't gone to this conference, I probably never would have gone to. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I am SO thankful that I got some international travel in at the beginning of 2020! Back in January, during those 3 carefree weeks in Jamaica, my classmates and I had no idea what was to come.

This year has definitely shown me the importance of taking advantage of opportunities while I have the chance. This trip was such as amazing one; I met new friends, learned how to cook traditional Jamaican food, and had a lot of incredible adventures.

What I wouldn't give to be jumping into the clear blue waters of the Caribbean again. #capturingjamaica

I was recently watching a video and this guy, who is now an amazing adventure photographer, said that he picked up a camera for the first time when he was 23/24.

This was such a powerful reminder for me that there are still so many passions I have yet to discover that could lead me down unexpected life paths. Even though I'm only 22, I often feel like I need to have everything figured out.

I've been struggling with this a lot lately; trying to figure out what the right move is + feeling like I need to know what the next few years are going to look like for me.

Hearing this guy's story filled me with a sense of relief. I don't need to have a plan for the next few years, I just need to take it one day at a time and be open to the opportunities that come my way. #capturingvirginia

It's fall!! 🍂 You wouldn't know it in VA Beach

It's fall!! 🍂

You wouldn't know it in VA Beach, it's still in the 70s here and the trees are green. Thankfully, I got my fall fix in Northern VA.

I have been loving taking weekend trips to different cities in VA. Most recently, I took a trip with friends to the city of Winchester.

We did all the fall things; apple picking, a haunted house, eating apple cider donuts. Winchester is the cutest town, there are so many great restaurants, coffee shops, and small businesses. #capturingvirginia
